“This land has something spiritual. It’s a paradise in the middle of nowhere” explains Tomas, who owns and runs Rancho Xotolar with his family. Riding on the ranch, you pass scenes of picturesque canyons and flowing rivers. It’s like riding through the setting of an old Western movie.
Tomas and The Ranch
The World Comes to Us
It is said that the substance of a place depends on its people. That could not be more true of Tomas Morin, and his family. They are the salt of the earth, the salt of San Miguel. Their grandparents bought this unique property back in the 1940s. It’s a 30-minute scenic drive from San Miguel and is known as one of Mexico’s remaining authentic working ranches.
Accompanied by the knowledgeable and expert horsemen from the family, they keep you comfortable as well as entertained with stories and songs along a guided ride.
Once everyone is back at the ranch, you may become a spectator or even a participant in the family rodeo and enjoy an organic meal prepared over an open fire with products grown and produced right on the ranch.
The homemade tortillas and fresh cheese are the best! Most importantly, people leave with a sense of understanding that the simplest things in life are always the most precious. Tomas words it best:”This land has something spiritual. It’s paradise in the middle of nowhere.” It couldn’t be a more true statement. Day in and day out, Tomas and his family work to make Rancho Xotolar the paradise that it is.
