Charlie Hall

GLASS AND CANDLE MAKER

Walking into the small adobe building, you smell the sweet scent of wax hardening. Candles of all sizes line the shelves, the familiar “Made in Mexico” stamp on each of them. Charlie greets us with a smile and shows us the steps in the process.

Charlie explains that it was his mother, Roseann Hall, who began making candles and glass years ago with the idea that they would give employment to those who need it. “That’s what we do here, we integrate all types of people.”

“That’s what we do here,

we integrate all types of people.”

He goes on to tell how one out of four of their employees is disabled, and that’s one of the things they’re most proud of.

The other is quality. “That’s what we’re known for, our quality.” We watch as workers etch each piece of glassware individually. The end results are astounding. Each piece contains a similar base design, but none are identical, just like the people who make them.
